R.I.P Dr.Vishnuvardhan

Dec 30th , 2009 is a sad day for kannada movie lovers.

The veteran actor Vishnuvardhan who shot to fame with 'Nagarahaavu' in 1972 was a rare actor. His 37 year film career is strewn with gems like Muthina Haara, Bhootayyana Maga Ayyu, Bandhana, Naagara Hole, Hombisilu and Apthamitra. My personal favourite being 'Nagarahaavu'.

It is disgusting the way his fans or hooligans behaved . Public property was vandalised. Houses and stalls were looted. May those guys rot in hell.
As i write this i am listening to the evergreen melodious song..'Baare baare' ( P.B srinivas) from nagarahaavu.

i feel ur pain. Once Vivek (famous Tamil Comedian) had invoked similar thought process in a comedy scene of his.. it went something like this...

Vivek's Dad being a small-town tuition teacher was teaching young kids about the importance of Kannagi ( a character in indian mythology who is well-known for raising her voice for justice.. an anger that burnt the whole of Madurai down into remains )
Vivek contradicts his dad saying.. if you teach kids such bullsh&t, what do you expect them to do when injustice happens in our country.. they wud run scurrying to find the first bus or shop to burn!! Kannagi shud not have misused her private injustice n make it public nuisance :P

Aah... sometimes even in brainless comedy.. there lies inner meaning.. :)
